The full picture: costs, export, cancelling, where data lives
- What it costs
- Full members (people who create and organize boards) pay per month. Volunteers, guests and viewers are free on every plan, forever. A small team uses Contals for free: up to 5 full members and 10 active boards. On the free plan, notifications arrive in the app, by push and in the weekly summary e-mail. A free organization nobody uses for 90 days is paused until an owner signs in again. Prices are early-access prices and become final before the public launch.
- Your data stays yours
- Export a board or a workspace as JSON at any time, on every plan – cards, comments, Power-Up data and the activity of the last 13 months; the whole organization in one file on Team and Business. No support ticket, no fee.
- Leaving is easy
- Cancel any time; paid plans run to the end of the period, then the organization continues on the free plan – nothing is deleted. An organization is deleted only when an owner asks for it, 30 days later; deleting your account removes your personal data after a 30-day grace period. Billing records are kept only as long as tax law requires.
- Where your data lives
- Board data, the database and backups are stored in Cloudflare’s EU jurisdiction; a second, encrypted copy of the backups lies at DigitalOcean in Frankfurt (Germany). Cloudflare is a US company; we say “EU data residency”, not “sovereign”. Details on the security page.
- How we make money
- From full members on paid plans. No ads, no selling or sharing of data, no tracking cookies, no metered AI credits. Visits to the website and the sign-in pages are counted with privacy-friendly, cookieless statistics (Fathom); signed-in pages load none.

Thu 20:00

Sat 16:00
Open day over – every stand was staffed.

Questions and answers
Can Contals alert our brigade?
No. Contals is no alerting or dispatch system. Keep your alerting system for call-outs; Contals organizes drills, checks, recruiting and events.
Do firefighters have to pay?
No. Firefighters and helpers join as volunteers or viewers – free on every plan. Only officers who create and organize boards are full members.
How do regular equipment checks work?
A card repeats on a schedule with the Card repeater Power-Up – every month, for example – with a checklist and an owner. Done checks stay in the board’s history.
Are there templates for fire brigades?
Yes: Fire brigade training year and Fire station open day, in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish, free on every plan.
Do fire brigades get nonprofit pricing?
Nonprofit pricing is for registered churches, charities and associations, and we review each request. A fire brigade organized as a registered association, or its support association, can ask for it on its organization’s billing page: the Team plan free for up to 15 full members and 50 % off paid plans beyond that. For brigades run by a municipality we decide per request. Members who only help or read are free anyway.
Plan the next drill year on a board.
Free for small teams. Volunteers and guests are always free. No credit card.
