  1. The Trello import takes (almost) everything – and whole workspaces

    • Import a whole Trello workspace or several boards in one go – through the API, several JSON files or the ZIP file of a workspace export – with one people mapping for all of them and the progress of each board.
    • Checklist items keep their person and due date, cards their due reminder, their cover picture, their location (a field and a map link) and links to the cards they mirror or attach, also across the boards of one import.
    • A template board becomes a workspace template, template cards get the label “Template”, the board description becomes the Read me page, and board members keep their role.
  2. Volunteers take cards themselves, and “My tasks” with dates

    • Volunteers and guests take an open card or checklist item with “I’ll do it” and can give it back; once it is theirs, they can mark it done.
    • A board made from a template is shared with the workspace by default, like an import; the invite-link section lists the boards volunteers will see and shares private ones with one button.
    • The simple view shows “My tasks” with their due dates, open ones first, and no card numbers – in the app, in e-mails and in push notifications.
  3. Poll and booking pages that respect people outside the team

    • A date someone has not answered shows “–” instead of “No”.
    • Members appear by first name on public polls (“Anna K.” when two share one); organizers can show full names for a poll.
    • Booking cards are titled with the appointment type – the booker’s name only if the type’s option is on; editors and admins still see who booked.
    • Time zones read as cities with their offset, such as “Zurich (UTC+2)”, and poll and booking pages name the organization behind them.
    • The line on public pages reads “Created with Contals – free for small teams.”
  4. A sign-in code for the installed app, a new password, and Google or Microsoft when joining

    • The sign-in e-mail carries a 6-digit code next to the link: typed into Contals installed on an iPhone, it signs you in there instead of in Safari.
    • Forgot your password? Sign in with an e-mail link; for 30 minutes you can then set a new password without the old one, and your other devices are signed out.
    • Joining through an invite link works with Google, Microsoft and single sign-on, too.
    • Sign-in errors are explained in your language, the sign-in form also works before the page has fully loaded, and a changed password sends a security notice.
  5. Archived items, keyboard shortcuts and a clearer “My cards”

    • Archived lists and cards wait in a sidebar of the board – search them and restore them; press ? for the list of keyboard shortcuts.
    • “My cards” are the cards assigned to you – on the page, the dashboard and in the API; the cards you created that nobody has taken yet have a section of their own.
    • Search finds “Gelände” when you type “gelande” or “gelaende”, and words inside longer ones.
    • The calendar Power-Up opens on the month of your next due date and gives a card without one a date with “Set a date”, also on phones.
    • On phones, the board’s tools sit in one menu and the page scrolls with its footer; undo messages stay 10 seconds.
  6. For owners and data protection officers

    • The welcome asks once for the name of your organization or team – it names the organization and its first workspace, for invoices and invitations.
    • The organization’s settings take a privacy contact and the acceptance of the data processing agreement – who accepted which version, and when.
    • Nonprofit decisions arrive by e-mail; when a payment fails, owners get an e-mail and every member sees why the organization is read-only.
    • Deleting your account names the organization you hand over, and the new owner is told by e-mail; a board’s cards export as CSV.
    • A subscription cancelled during its trial simply ends on the free plan.
    • Deleted your account and changed your mind? Within 30 days support can restore it – your name, address and settings come back; your teams invite you again.
  7. Contals in French, Italian and Spanish

    • The app in French, Italian and Spanish – menus, e-mails, notifications, the built-in templates and the Power-Ups – and this website, too. Pick the language in the footer or in your profile; the AI features answer in it.
    • The help pages and the legal texts stay in English and German: French, Italian and Spanish readers get the English help, and the legal pages show the English text with a notice that the English and German versions are binding.
    • The French, Italian and Spanish pages of the website are new translations and stay out of search engines until native speakers have reviewed them.
  8. Early access – October 2026

    • Contals opens for early access: what follows is what it includes. Entries above this one are what changed since.
    • Boards, lists and cards in real time, card details in a sidebar, checklists with an owner and a date per item, custom fields, file attachments, formatted text and @mentions; boards stay readable offline.
    • “For you” on the home page, an inbox, push notifications through the installable app, quiet hours, due reminders and a summary e-mail; “Since your last visit” and markers for stale cards on every board.
    • Filters and saved filters as board tabs, search across boards, a workspace dashboard and calendar, status updates with a weekly reminder and a printable status report.
    • 16 Power-Ups in every plan – among them calendar, automation, card repeater, date polls, booking pages, dependencies and chat notifications – plus webhooks for Zapier and Make, public boards and e-mail to a board.
    • Templates for churches, schools, sports clubs, fire brigades, music schools and NGOs, a reviewed community gallery, invite links with a QR code, “Getting started” and imports from Trello, Asana, Jira, monday.com, ClickUp, Notion, Wekan, CSV and Excel – with a free, guided Trello migration.
    • Undo and redo, an archive for finished boards, checklist items that become cards, and card numbers your way.
    • Two-factor sign-in, passkeys, single sign-on on Team and Business, confidential boards, an audit log and retention rules; data in Cloudflare’s EU jurisdiction with an encrypted backup copy in Frankfurt.
    • AI with your organization’s own model, a public REST API and an MCP server.
    • Plans in CHF, EUR or USD, a 14-day Team trial without a card, nonprofit pricing on request and a free plan that stays free – nothing is charged during early access.
    • The app in English, German, Swiss German, French, Italian and Spanish, this website in English, German, French, Italian and Spanish; a simple view for occasional helpers and keyboard access throughout.
