Keyboard shortcuts

The most important shortcuts are / or ⌘K for search, the arrow keys to move between cards, Enter to open a card and F2 to rename it, ⌘/Ctrl Enter to save multi-line text and Escape to cancel or close. On Windows and Linux, use Ctrl instead of ⌘. Everything in Contals works with the keyboard alone; the first Tab on every page offers Skip to content.

KeysAction
/Open search (when you are not typing in a field)
⌘ K / Ctrl KOpen search
↑ ↓Move through search results
EnterOpen the selected result
EscapeClose search
KeysAction

EnterOpen the focused card’s details (the focus moves to its title)
F2Rename the focused card in place
EnterSave a title
FFilter the board’s cards (filter a board)
[ ]The previous or next tab of the board
?Show the keyboard shortcuts in the sidebar (also in the board’s … menu: Keyboard shortcuts)
⌘ Z / Ctrl ZUndo your last change on this board, when you are not typing in a field (undo and redo)
⌘ Shift Z / Ctrl Shift Z / Ctrl YRedo it
EscapeLeave a field; a second Escape closes the card sidebar and returns to the card; with the sidebar closed, it clears the board filter

The single-key shortcuts /, F, [, ] and ? can be turned off in your profile (Single-key shortcuts), for example when you use speech input. ⌘K / Ctrl K keeps working.

When you create a checklist, the cursor goes straight into Add an item, and after you edit a card title on the card and press Enter, the focus stays on that card – what you type next never runs a board shortcut by accident.
