# Inbox

> The inbox collects what concerns you – assignments, comments on your cards, checklist items for you, poll answers and bookings – with a live unread count on the bell.

The inbox collects what concerns you: when someone assigns you to a card or a checklist item, or comments on a card you created or are assigned to. The bell in the header shows the number of unread items and updates live.

## What lands in your inbox

| Event | Example |
|---|---|
| You are assigned to a card | “Anna assigned you” |
| A comment on a card you are involved in | “Ben commented” |
| A checklist item is given to you | “Anna gave you a checklist item” |
| An answer or a comment on a date poll you created | “Ben answered your date poll” |
| A booking you host is made, moved or cancelled | “New booking”, “A booking was moved” |

Your own actions never create inbox items. Changes made by imports or system processes are silent.

## Working with the inbox

- Click the bell or open **Inbox** from the menu.
- Click an item to open the card with its details.
- **Mark all as read** clears the unread count.

## The summary e-mail

Once a week – Monday at 07:30 in your time zone, or daily if you prefer and one of your organizations has a paid plan – Contals sends a short summary: what is waiting for you (overdue cards, cards due soon, checklist items, cards without activity for a while, unread notifications) and what others changed on your boards. Empty summaries are never sent. Choose the day, the time and what it includes under **Profile → Summary e-mail and notifications** – details in [notifications](/docs/en/finding/notifications/). What reaches you by push or by e-mail as well – and when not, in your quiet hours – is set on the same page.
